Evan's Funnies

We talked a lot of football last night since the Bears played and high school, college and pro football is about to be in full swing. This morning while I was getting breakfast ready, Evan was looking at the pictures in the sections of the paper....flash forward to the ride home from Whole Foods:

Evan: "Mommy, is that the football stadium where the Eagle plays?"(The mascot for the football team down the street)

Me: "Yes E"
15 second pause
Evan: "Luke I was reading an interesting article in the paper about football and the Bears in the Super "Bolt""

Luke: Okay(his new word)

This afternoon they were getting tired so I told them it was time for res/nap time.

Evan: "No mommy, I can't nap, I have a conference call with some work guys".
Me: "Okay, after that you need to rest or relax for awhile".
Evan: "Well....after that, I have to run some queries on the computer"

Jon is constantly running queries on his computer but still I thought it amusing he used it in a sentence.

Hutcheson Happenings

Not much to report here....I will upload some funny beach videos from Jon's computer this evening.

The boys were unusually "spirited" this weekend which made for a very tired mommy and daddy. Luckily, we headed out on Saturday for a much needed night out...it had been awhile since our last night out. We went to one of our wine bar haunts and I discovered unfiltered wine.....yummy!

We went to the aquarium Saturday afternoon which was fun but ended in disaster as we ran smack into the tribal dance re-enactment/performance they have there and Luke was TERRIFIED! Once Evan realized that Luke was terrified, he became scared as well and we had to talk about the whole thing for hours afterwards.

On Sunday, I had a "date" for lunch and a movie with Carla and Holly. It was lovely and so much fun! We ate at an Italian place...on the patio as it is finally cooling off here...and then saw Julie and Julia. It was really good and Carla admitted it was her first movie experience since Parker has been born so I felt extra special.

Sunday nights are typically a special kind of interesting at our house.....well, interesting is a nice way of saying hellish. However, the Bears were on so this did break up the craziness of little boys alternately screaming and fighting.

I couldn't get into an A&P class for the fall since almost all were full since it is a pre-req for so much stuff and I had time constraints. I will sign up much earlier for a spring class.

I took the boys to do groceries this morning since I was out yesterday....seriously it's like the Mommy Olympics. However, I stayed within my budget even with the bribery gumdrop purchase. I also only had sweat running down my back when I left not the typical completely stained shirt.....I consider that victory!

Have I mentioned the boys don't start school until next Wednesday and Thursday....long time from now!:)

Back From Vacation...

a real vacation and a blog vacation. I have been trying to stay off the internet, FB and such as it is such a time drain for me when I could be doing lots of stuff that needs to be done.

We had a fabulous time in York Beach. The weather was idyllic, the kids loved the beach and the parents and grandparents all had an amazing time! I would love to say it was extremely relaxing but it was as relaxing as a vacation can be with 4 kids under the age of 5....3 of them very active boys and one devious little girl!;)

The highlights for me were the runs along the ocean, discovering wild Maine rose bushes, dark chocolate blueberry turtles from the Goldenrod, lots of ice cream with excited little kids, lobster dinners, cousins getting to play together and lots of beach martinis!

There were some interesting moments that involved missing air conditioning remotes, a boat ride where Uncle Dave and I both almost tossed our cookies and the trip to the york Beach ER but I choose to forget these among the many amazing memories we made with the kids and grandparents....can't wait to go back!
