Luke's Halloween Costume

Can anyone guess?;)

The Sickies Found Us!

We have been fighting the good fight but last week there were 8/12 kids out of Evan's classroom ..most with piggy flu. We thought we had dodged it but E woke up early Sunday AM with fever and had been "off" most of Saturday.
He tested negative for the flu but the doc at the after hours ped place said the test is a crapshoot at best and based on his exposure and symptoms, he probably had it.
Luke started today. Our ped is not recommending Tamiflu so we are just waiting it out. Evan seems much better today so we will see how he is for school on Thursday or Friday.
We had a great suprise today when we got Halloween treats from Great Grammy in the mail!!! The boys have their special baskets in the pics.
And yes, that is Luke with his own DVD player set-up. My kids love TV/Videos when they are sick ....and mommy is just trying to survive till we feel better!:)

Some Random Pics of the Boys

Just thought Grandma and Papa might like to see the boys!

Halloween Jammies and Orange Bathroom

Here are some pics of the new orange bathroom...per Evan's request. It actually turned out really nicely. We have done 2 painting projects inthe last month and we have 2 left (the front room and Evan's room) before our master bedroom overhaul. We are taking a break though....I need to pace Jon to keep him motivated.
The boys in their new Halloween jammies didn't turn out great but pictures after the mood swing at 4PM typically don't!:)

More Arboretum pics...

Arboretum Fall Fest

We went to the Arboretum to enjoy the pumpkins and the weather! Evan always knows it is "pumpkin time" when we go to the Arboretum to see the pumpkins. The weather was blissful....I am not being dramatic , it was such a nice day.
The boys toured Daddy around the playhouses as he hadn't seen them yet. They really liked the live music and spent some time dancing. They also loved the pumpkins floating in the fountain. The amount of pumpkins is just staggering and they do such a good job with the displays.
Luke it right at the age that Evan was when we got pregnant...isn't that crazy?! He has also morphed into a real 2 year old...tantrums, irrational mood swings, etc. His language is getting much better though so that is a bonus as compared to non-speaking Evan at this stage.
I am going to put some more pics in the next post.

That's what a mommy gets...

So Friday night was beautiful here.....you really do know why people flock to San Diego for weather bliss! When Jon got home and we had pizza, the boys had a picnic on a blanket in the grass. I would have taken pics but I was trying to relax a bit after a long week. Jon and I spent all week trying to get rid of whatever virus we had.

After dinner, Daddy decided to take the boys to the high school football game down the street...Evan LOVES to go! Mommy was going to stay here, clean up and then have a little relaxing mommy time. Well, I did get my time and it was lovely sitting on my patio, relaxing with some wine with the beautiful weather. However, when the boys got home I was informed that Luke is DEATHLY afraid of the school mascot...an Eagle...and since Evan loves it they got up close and personal before Jon figured it out. No big deal you say? Of course not, when you don't have to spend the night with a head attached to your chest and hot feet invading your space, you wouldn't think it was a big deal. The Eagle scared him enough that he would not go to sleep by himself at all.

I think I jinxed myself by basking in my "me-time"......I will not be making that mistake anytime soon!;) Also, no more big cartoon Ealges in our near future, you live, you learn.

Puddles and Tub Time!

The pictures popped up in reverse order of what I thought, but oh well! On Thursday, we had a nice rain storm here and the boys went from watching from their chairs outside to full on splashing in anything they could find to splash in. I am used to this now and just make sure there are a pile of towels for the aftermath.
We hadn't finished the bathroom yet so the boys bathed in our tub all last week. Luke doesn't exactly love it;)! This was the post puddle bath and it took awhile to get all that dirt off.
We finished the bathroom this weekend and I will post pics as soon as we get the tape off and things back in order. It looks very orange but super fun and just like a kids bathroom. Evan absolutely loves it!!
